Catherine Bonnie Fowler
Hi. Some of you may know me as Bonnie Cherryholme, although my legal birth name is Catherine Bonnie Cherryholme. I was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and lived there all my life -- well, actually the first seven years of my life were spent in Aylmer, Quebec. But the rest of my life was lived in Ottawa, until the fall of 1995 when, having met John Thomas Fowler some time earlier (isn't IRC wonderful folks?) -- he swept me off my feet and convinced me to relocate. In fact, at 3:30pm on January 25, 1997, my name changed to Catherine Bonnie Fowler. (Don't you think that has a special ring to it?)
I try to spend most of my free time researching my family tree. (I'm the cute one holding the shovel.)
I hope to eventually start work on a book of what has turned out to be a fascinating project indeed. Three of my grandparents were British Home Children, coming to Canada in 1911 and 1912. My fourth grandparent is a direct descendant of Louis Hebert -- the first settler to French Canada. I am the mother of an amazing young lady who receieved her B.A. from Carleton University in 1997. Her name is Natalie Cherryholme -- and she truly is a young lady of whom I am very proud.
She is so wonderful, in fact, that for Christmas 1996 she bought me my high school graduation ring -- a ring she had to have made especially for me since I graduated in 1967!!!!!!!!
On June 23, 2001, Natalie became a mother -- it was an awesome experience welcoming Marcus Paul Cherryholme-Raymond into the world. Marcus arrived at 3:29am at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa. He weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and he is beautiful -- just like his Mom!!! View Grandma's Brag Book. Now that Marcus is here, I guess I don't have quite as much time to work on my family tree any more. Oh well, c'est la vie!!!!!
